Chinese Hacks Ghanaian Over Fish

The Marine, Railway and Port Unit of the Tema Regional Police Command has arrested a 45-year-old Chinese national for allegedly slashing his Ghanaian worker at the Tema Fishing Harbour in the Greater Accra Region over a carton of fish.

The culprit, Maxim Long, Chief Operating Officer of Maxim MV II, was said to have slashed 33-year-old Abraham Arthur, who is a stevedore.

The injured reported the incident to the Tema Fishing Harbour Police Station who arrested the suspect.

He has provisionally been charged with unlawfully causing harm.

Confirming the incident to DAILY GUIDE, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Joseph Benefo Darkwah, the Public Relation Officer (PRO) of the Regional Police Command said the case was under investigation.

According to reports, on January 9, 2018 at about 3:30pm, Abraham was accused of stealing a carton of fish by a colleague.

The co-worker subsequently reported the matter to the Chinese boss who slashed the left hand of the Ghanaian.

Abraham was issued with a police medical report form to attend hospital for treatment and examination.

The police said the suspect would be arraigned before court after police investigations.
