Several roads in the Assin North and South Districts of the Central Region have received a facelift to significantly ease traffic flow.
A tour by the Ghana News Agency on some roads showed that many deplorable roads have been repaired, showing signs of relief for residents and road users.
In Assin Fosu, Mr Nicholas Fiifi Baako, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said the Assembly was determined to go all out to ensure that the roads, particularly feeder roads in the area were in good condition.
He said road works have began from the Assin Fosu Station - Total Two, Barrier to Pomaa Kukuase, Railway Bridge, Dompim Junction - ADB among a host others to ease traffic flow.
In addition to this, the Assembly was also working hard to supply significant quantities of Street bulbs to light-up the city to ward off all criminal activities that fester in darkness.
This, he said, would be supplied to all electoral areas in the Municipality as part of the renewed strategic plan to redevelop the area to attract tourists and investors to create employment.
In the Assin South District, the GNA observed that multiples of rings of craters of potholes from Nyankomasi Ahinkro to Assin Atonsu had been filled with bitumen.
Apart from that major feeder roads, Assin Adubiase Kwafulkrom-Homaho, Nsuakyir- Homaho, Yaw Boama Kwame Annan roads had all been repaired for easy commuting.
Mr Derrick Owusu Ambrose, the Assin South District Chief Executive (DCE), in a separate interview at Homaho, said the Assembly was committed to bridging the gap between rural communities and urban areas to increase productivity.
He described the rural areas as the food basket of the district and assured the people of increased social support to improve their living conditions.
In this respect, he said, all assembly members had been asked to engage their people and submit their teething needs to enable the Assembly address them adequately.
