The Appointment Of Martin Amidu Is A Recognition Of Patriotism-PPI-Ghana

PPI-Ghana notes with great felicitations the appointment of Mr. Martin A.B.K Amidu as the first Special Prosecutor of Ghana with a mandate to stamp out corruption and other related matters that have hamstrung the West Africa’s biggest democracy, Ghana.

This appointment is recognition of patriotism, therefore whilst we congratulate Mr. Martin Amidu on this occasion, we remind him to be guarded by the spirit of patriotism in the discharge of this ever daunting task.

We have reached a point in our history where we need to flash out the minority few whose penchant for corruption and self-enrichment at the expense of the state has stifled our resolve for growth, this creates the urgent demand for proven patriots to take up such critical positions. This appointment therefore gives solid meaning to the silver Jubilee of our 4th republic putting patriotism at the apex of national agenda.

We eulogize the president of the republic of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo for this bold decision. It shows his unflinching zeal to fighting corruption and this will go down in history as the most ambitious decision at fighting corruption.

The appointment is a clear warning to present and future appointees to be cautious of their actions and inactions. Former appointees who will be trapped down by Mr Amidu’s state sponsored armory must accept with due humility and suffer the consequences of their deeds without complains.

PPI-Ghana will continue to back any agenda that will propel Ghana to growth especially using patriotism.

Signed
Eric Nartey Yeboah
