Corruption In Ghana Today Is Rawlings’ Breed - Ken Agyapong Counters Amidu

Outspoken New Patroitic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin Central, the honourable Kennedy Agyapong has lashed out at Martin Amidu for hailing former President Rawlings as someone who fought corruption to reduce it to the barest minimum, accusing Amidu of being Mr Rawlings’ partner in running down the country. He accused Mr Rawlings of being the one under whom corruption in Ghana was breeded.

He was reacting to a statement by President Nana Akufo Addo’s nominee for the Office of the Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu, when he appeared before a vetting committee of Parliament. Mynewsgh.com earlier reported Mr Amidu as having listed former Rawlings as his refereee and mentor who stood for the fight against corruption.

“Ghana’s fate today, he is part of it, the atrocities they committed together, what is Amidu talking about? Me I don’t fear anybody, it is only God I fear. I fear nothing, I fear no one. Rawlings, the corruption today is his breed”, he declared.

Mr Ken Agyapong, who was speaking in the studio of Asempa FM Tuesday, to buttress his point sang: “We no go sit down make them cheat us everyday…” He chanted.

He berated the former President Rawlings for “grooming and training very corrupt people” in the National Democratic Congress (NDC Party).
