Dream Projects Education Foundation Donates Learning Materials To Mamprobi South 3 Kindergarten School

Focusing on laying a strong foundation for child education with standard learning materials for Kindergarten schools is the surest way to secure better future and making the dreams of those children become a reality.

Dream Project Education Foundation is one of the non-governmental organizations making sure the dreams of children at the Kindergarten level start on a good footing in order for the country to raise responsible and resourceful leaders in the future.

Speaking to Peacefmonline.com during donation to Mamprobi South Three Basic School is the President and leader of Dream Project Education Foundation, Mr. Gyasi Appiah who revealed that it is dream of his foundation to see every child in Ghana complete at least Senior High School.

“Our vision as Dream Project Education Foundation is to see every child in Ghana complete at least Senior High School and in Ghana. I have realised that whenever government says something is free, parents leave everything on the shoulders of the government with the mindset that the government should provide everything”.

“The government may not be able to cover every child and so for instance instead of 10 books for each child, it may be able to provide only five and for this issue some parents will ask their children to stay at home till the government provides the remain five books”.

Mr. Gyasi Appiah however expressed concern to the fact that some parents also don’t take care of what their children wear to school since everything has been declared free by the government; adding that “this is where Dream Project Education Foundation comes in to help”.

“We believe that every child has a future or dream and for that dream to become a reality in terms of education, that is where Dream Project comes to play a role by providing books, pencils, pens and other logistics which aid in learning in schools especially for the children at the Kindergarten level”.

According to him, Dream Project is barely a year old with his wife and some friends being the main source of funding to this noble course; thus, this is the first major donation to Mamprobi South Three School.

“ . . and we are pleading with Ghanaians, institutions and other philanthropists to come on board to support these children at the Kindergarten level as our little contributions will make these children realise their dreams”, he pleaded.

“The learning materials which were donated to Mamprobi South Three School included 160 copies of course books to KG 1 and KG 2 and we brought the course books. The books are four folds for both the KG 1 and KG 2. 200 copies of A1 and D1 exercise books to KG1 and KG2 so that each child will receive at least 6 books. We added 32 inch Nasco Digital TV set with a CD of learning materials on it so that the children can listen and learn as children learn quickly with pictorial materials”.

He concluded that the sum involved is more than Ghc3, 000 worth of learning materials; reiterating that with the 700 NGOs dealing with classrooms, such needs can be addressed but feared some are taking advantage of this noble course to enrich themselves instead of helping to champion this course to achieve the intended purpose.

“If all of us should come on board to help out these schools with their needs, we will be able to help address the challenges associated with quality education”, he stressed.

We are pleading with parents to join hands to lay a strong educational foundation for the children at the Kg levels so that when they reach class 1 they will be well equipped academically to progress in the school in order to achieve our purpose for the children.

Addressing the gathering, the Coordinator of Basic Schools, Accra Metro Mrs Rita Ofei Darko pleaded with parents to help strong educational foundation for the children at the KG level in order not to suffer as they reach primary and to the Junior High School and then take advantage of the Free SHS.

“We want a situation where the children will be able to read and write when they leave Kg and things such as this donation from Dream project education foundation will help us to achieve the aim we want for the children”.

“What Dream project education foundation has done for Mamprobi south 3 basic School today is something the government has said that we should partner stakeholders such as NGOs to help and so we are grateful to Dream project education foundation”.

“We will also encourage other stakeholders to come to our aid....this does not mean the government is not helping but additional support from other private institutions will make us complete because we all want the best for Ghana” she pleaded.
