Ebony Was Part Of Me – Kojo Bonsu

Many notable personalities have shocked society with their sudden affiliation with late dancehall musician, Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng popularly known as Ebony Reigns.

The late to join the bandwagon is former Chief Executive of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Kojo Bonsu.

The visibly distraught former Kumasi mayor described himself as an ardent fan of Ebony whose songs resonated with him.

“Ebony is part of me in different ways; I know her very well and love her songs so her death has really affected me”, he told Kofi TV in an interview at the sidelines of the one week memorial held in honour of the late musician.

Kojo Bonsu was also confident the controversial musician is in the bosom of the Lord.

“We must give God the praise because he knows best. Ebony did not live long on earth but is known worldwide; let’s protect her legacy”, he added.

The former Kumasi Mayor expressed his condolence to the family and pledged his support towards giving the late Ebony a befitting burial.

Meanwhile, the memorial service held at St. Martin de Porres in Dansoman was attended by two government ministers – Communications Minister Ursula Owusu-Ekuful whose constituency includes Ebony’s Dansoman residence and Tourism and Creative Arts Minister Catherine Afeku.

Big names in the entertainment industry including Sarkodie, Ofori Amponsah, Shatta Wale, Becca, Nana Yaa, Sister Deborah and many others all paid their respects to the late music star.
