86 Year Old Businessman Commits Suicide

A 86-year-old businessman on Monday allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with a gun at Djankrom, near Nsawam, in the Eastern Region.

The deceased, identified as Kwabena Agyei, was found in a pool of blood with gun wounds on his forehead in his room.
The Ghanaian Times gathered that no suicide note was found on him.

The Nsawam District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Felix Apedo, confirmed the tragedy to the Ghanaian Times, stating that the police have begun investigations into the case.

He said the police had information of the suicide, and proceeded to the scene and saw the deceased in a pool of blood.
Chief Sup Apedo said the body was conveyed to the Police Hospital mortuary in Accra pending autopsy.

“The gun the deceased used in committing the act has so far been retrieved by the police,” he added.

Chief Sup Apedo said in the morning of April 9, one of the wives of the deceased went to his room and found him dead, and she reported the case to the police.
