Let's Help You If You’re Homosexual : Foh-Amoaning Tells Wereko Brobby

A post on Facebook by former Chief Executive Officer of Volta River Authority (VRA) supporting gay rights has annoyed legal practitioner, Moses Foh-Amoaning who suggested to Dr. Charles Wereko Brobby to seek help if he is a homosexual.

“So Dr. Charles Wereko Brobby, I am an albino, my name is Moses Foh-Amoaning [and] I accept the problem that I have but God being so good and my father being a minister of the gospel, trained me to be able to cater for the weakness that I have, genetically. “So if you are a homosexual let us help you out of it rather than using vestiges of colonialism to support this degenerate moral behavior,” Foh-Amoaning told the host of AM Show, Mamavi Owusu Aboagye, Friday.

Dr. Wereko Brobby popularly known as ‘Tarzan’, waded into the ongoing debate over whether or not Ghana should recognise the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT).

African leaders appear to have come under pressure to place gay rights on the front burner. In recent times, almost every international journalist who gets the opportunity to speak to an African president brings the subject up.

Tarzan, who is also the Chief Policy Analyst at Ghana Institute for Public Policy Options (GIPPO) had on Monday, April 23, posted on the social media platform: “Respect for an individual's rights must never be construed as imposition of those rights on all individuals #supportlgbtrights!”

An incensed Foh-Amoaning who is also National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights, says the customary law of Ghana–which is recognised by the Constitution- abhors homosexuality and that is the position of Ghana which must be respected by the international community.

He wondered if the Energy Expert who is also a native of the Ashanti Region will be accepted by his people if he openly declared this stance there.

“And Dr. Charles Wereko Brobby, you say you belong to the Ashanti Kingdom; can you go there and say that you want to practice homosexuality or you want to support it? You will be rejected by the community that you come from. “Dr. Charles Wereko Brobby, you are more important than this…How can a man have sex in the anus and you say it is a human right [so] we should respect it? You are wrong and Ghanaians don’t believe in what you are saying,” the lawyer stated.
