Edmund Kyei Writes: Asiedu Nketia Is Lying Through His Teeth

Today the NDC is saying their much touted Unity Walk is for the unity of the party but every action and event paraphernalia such as T-Shirts worn by their outsourced crowd clearly shows it is a propaganda exercise meant to campaign for John Mahama for his come-back. We urge them on because they are just preparing the grounds for another humiliation come 2020 elections.

I am not surprised if they use this medium to make false pronouncements which is only wrapped with ill-intent to discredit the good image of the NPP government, because they themselves have misplaced priorities for this “donkomi” walk.

We have said it and we are re-reiterating there is no instance that the President, His Excellency Nana Akufo- Addo has approved or even urged homosexuality to be embraced by Ghanaians. Let it be known and engraved in the annals of our history books, sometime in the not forgotten past that, we have had a set of comically constituted political party the NDC who have played on the development of Ghanaians with key unserious actors such as Asiedu Nketia as their general Secretary. It is evidently clear that the public should treat with condescension all forms of malicious statement from Asiedu Nketia and his cohorts. Nothing good has ever come out from them.

Nana Akufo-Addo has not said anything bad with respect to the issue of gay marriage anywhere. There are laws in the country and none of them supports homosexuality. These are the laws we will uphold as government who respect the rule of Law. As for us in the NPP, legalizing homosexuality will never be part of the NPP’s agenda to improve and better the life of the people of Ghana. We have a focused objective to build strong and resilient economy.

This is our focus and we will never be distracted. We have made significant growth in this regard. With the efficient and prudent management team under Nana Akufo-Addo, Ghana is on course to be the fastest growing economy in the world at a projected 8.3% in 2018 according to the World Bank. This is the feat that needs to be projected and not the fake pronouncements by Asiedu Nketia on gay marriages.

The most important thing is we are on track in delivering on all our promises to the people of Ghana. While building a strong economy, government has been at work on other critical promises too such as the one district – one factory, one million dollar per each constituency, one village – one dam to create jobs and wealth for the people.
