Let's join hands to move Ghana forward-Moderator

The Right Reverend Dr Yaw Frimpong-Manso, Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has urged Ghanaians to accept the challenge to collectively take the nation out of its socio-economic problems. This called for a united effort in the fight against waste, ethnocentrism, indiscipline, corruption, drugs and other social evils in the society. The task of nation building, he said, is enormous and must not be left in the hands of only the elected few. The Rt Rev Dr Frimpong-Manso, who was preaching the sermon at a thanksgiving service to draw the curtains down on the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Nsuta District Presbyterian Church, said all must join hands to move the country forward. "Let us rise up and build" was the theme. The Moderator appealed to Christians to take a cue from the Biblical story of Nehemiah, who through determination, perseverance, unity and trust in the Lord, and amidst stiff opposition led his people to re-build the walls of Jerusalem. The Rt Rev Dr Frimpong-Manso said they should also uphold social justice, adding that they are enjoined to reflect Christ-like qualities. The Rev E. Ansah-Asamoah, District Minister, said they were focusing on helping to stem the tide of rural-urban drift and youth unemployment. Appeal for funds yielded GH7,000.
