NPP Polls: I Will Not Contest National Chairmanship - Sammy Crabbe

The suspended Second Vice Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Sammy Crabbe, has rescinded his decision to contest the party’s national chairmanship position.

This comes after party activist Hajia Fati, violently attacked and prevented him from picking nomination forms when he visited the party’s headquarters last week.

Mr Crabbe, together with messrs Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, was suspended in the lead-up to the 2016 election amidst allegations that they were working against the party’s then flag bearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Sources close to Mr Crabbe have disclosed to ClassFMonline.com that he would not be contesting following the Hajia Fati debacle.

The source further disclosed that a decision on Mr Crabbe’s political future would be announced in due course.

Yesterday was the deadline for picking nomination forms and the acting National Chairman, Mr Freddie Blay and three other interested aspirants picked their forms as of the time of filing this report.
