Africa U20 Cup Of Nations Qualifier: Algeria 0-0 Ghana

The Black Satellites put up a decent performance to draw 0-0 with Algeria on Friday night at the Stade du 5 Juillet in the 2019 Africa U20 Cup of Nations penultimate round first leg qualifier.

After 19 minutes Saliw Babawo threaded a low pass straight into the box but striker Basit Abdul Rahman of New Edubiase shot it against the stretched left leg of goalkeeper Daas.

In the 35th minute, the home side came close, but it was Gidoen Mensah, who blocked a connection at the near post.

Four minutes from the half time whistle, Danso tried his luck from 25 yards but his powerful shot flew over the goal post but it was a few metres wide.

Substitute Ibrahim Sulley tried a long range shot from outside the box but it was wide in the 77th minute.

In the 86th minute, Zorgane connected a pass from the right flank but his effort was rising.

In injury time, Algeria were awarded a free kick inside the penalty arc, but once again, Zorgane shot wide.

The Black Satellites will host the Young Fennecs next Sunday in the return leg.
