Akufo-Addo Just "Buying Time" With His NaBCo – Joseph Yamin

Former Deputy National Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) under former President John Dramani Mahama has described governments’ Nation Builders Corps (NaBCo) initiative as a waste of state resources.

“It is just an approach the President is using to buy time on his numerous promises made during the 2016 elections which he has not been able to fulfill,” Yamin stated.

Speaking on UTV’sAdekye Nsroma’ programme, he stressed that apart from contradicting themselves, changing names of already existing organizations, and telling lies, the party in power has not embarked on any developmental project that is of benefit to citizens of Ghana.

Explaining further, Joseph Yamin lamented “I don’t understand why this government should create another entity which will perform the same duties of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA). Is that not buying time of important issues that needs to be addressed and waste of state resources?

His co-panelist on the show, former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman of Ayawaso West Wuogon, Michael Omari Wadie objected to his comments and asserted, “Just tell me to explain to you the difference between the two if you don’t understand, because there is more to it than you think and have expressed."

The YEA deals with non-graduate employees whiles NaBCo is for only graduates who have gone through national service but have not been gainfully employed.

NaBCo will employ about 300 graduates in every district.
