"Justice Delayed Is Justice Denied", Bring The Armed Soldiers To Book - Atik

“Justice delayed they say is justice denied”, Atik Mohammed tells the Ministries of Defence and Interior and all other appropriate State authorities as he condemns Wednesday's Military attack on some Police Officers in Tamale.

Chaos brewed in Tamale in the Northern Region between the Military and the Police when the Military personnel pounced on the Policemen assaulting them.

The armed soldiers, who were on board three branded military vehicles, according to eyewitnesses, stormed the Northern Regional Police Headquarters and the Tamale Metro Police Command, both situated on the same compound, and fired warning shots; causing series of injuries to the Officers.

Addressing the issue on 'Kokrokoo' on Peace FM, Atik Mohammed told Kwami Sefa Kayi that the matter should be dealt with the urgency it deserves.

He asked the appropriate authorities to smoke out the assailants and mete out punitive measures to serve as deterrent to others within the security forces.

According to him, the Military is trained to exercise restraint even at the slightest provocation by a civilian and so wondered why they would flip their lid on their colleague security personnel.

“It does not matter how deep the provocation is, you’re bound by your own standards not to assault a civilian; most importantly your colleague security personnel . . . There’s nothing politically correct about what has happened and you cannot seem to have anything politically correct about what has happened. There should be investigations”, he said.
