Candidates of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Junior High School in Yendi, who will write the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) on Monday, June 4, have been urged to abide by the rules and regulations governing the exams.
Pastor Daniel Gyamerah, in-charge of the (SDA) Church, Yendi, advised the pupils to follow the West African Examination Council (WAEC) regulations and avoid examination malpractices to prevent their results being cancelled.
The pupils are among 1,039 candidates from 33 schools in the Yendi Municipality who are to write the exams.
Pastor Gyamerah said over the past years all SDA School candidates who took part in the BECE were never involved in examination malpractices and urged them to emulate that example.
Pastor Gyamerah made the called when the 106 BECE candidates of the School worshiped with them on Saturday (Sabbath).
He warned them to desist from sending foreign materials and mobile phones among other prohibited materials to the examination hall.
He said it would be a disgrace to the Church, the School and the Municipality if any of them was caught indulging in any malpractice.
Madam Salamatu Adamu Abebe, a Church Elder, advised them to pray to God to guide them against any temptation during the examination.
She urged them to ensure that they read all instructions and understood the questions before attempting to answer.
She said they should go to the examination centre early, be confident and must not be frightened by the invigilators or security personnel at post.
Mr Osuman Issahaku, the Head teacher of the School, said the candidates were disciplined and would not do anything untoward to tarnish the image of the School.
He thanked the Church for offering prayers for all the BECE candidates of the nation to enable them to come out successful.
