First Vice Chairperson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Anita De-Soso, has in a sharp riposte, has likened former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings to the biblical Delilah.

She accuses the former first lady of misleading the founder of the opposition party, Jerry John Rawlings to destroy the party he is regarded as the founder.

Instead of attacking former President Rawlings for calling her a crook in a video which has gone viral, Madam Anita De-Soso has turned her arsenal on his [Rawlings’] wife, saying she is the reason for Rawlings' recent behaviour, as he used to be decorous in public about the happenings in the NDC.

According to Rawlings in the video, Anita De-Soso hypocritically knelt before his wife, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings to support her to win the Women’s Organizer position and later manoeuvre her way to become the next National Women’s Organizer when she was not near the position.

"..she is a crook. She's lucky I don't talk about her. What she did was pre-planned. Yeah, the woman on the stage, June 4, when she went on her knees. How can a woman come on her knees pleading for forgiveness for the party instead of accepting it graciously and letting it go,” Rawlings jabbed.

But Anita De-Soso in response to Rawlings on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, averred that former President Rawlings is being misled by his wife to publicly cast aspersions at her.

The NDC former National Women’s Organizer however likened the former first lady to “Delilah” who out of wickedness and hatred for Samson, betrayed him and made him weak and blind; saying Konadu Agyeman Rawlings is using the same method on Mr. Rawlings.

“I want my mother [Konadu Agyeman Rawlings] to know that we will leave this world behind and I want to refer my mother to read the book of Judges Chapter 15; she should read this Chapter. Samson was blessed by God but because of his love for Delilah and she not loving him back, and due to her wicked mind towards Samson, his hair was shaved and he became weak and he became blind eventually. . . today, I want my mother [Konadu] to know she has the opportunity to do something to help her husband’s situation because this is not how he [Rawlings] used to behave. She should think about it carefully,” she narrated.

Anita De-Soso again warned the woman she referred to her as a mother, Konadu  Agyeman Rawlings to be careful not to think of destroying former President Rawlings by feeding with wrong information; thus she and Rawlings hail from the same Keta land in the Volta Region.

“God should help change her mind because she is misleading the man and his dignity is being tarnished in the process. Everybody in the party knows that I am Rawlings’ child and so I don’t get anything being shared in the party; it is God who is taking care of me and I will not be begging anybody for food or give myself to anybody for help.

“This is not how my father Rawlings used to behave for him to stand in public to insult me, calling me names . . . I am tired of her and as for the man, he is not himself and I believe God will glorify Himself in this situation because what my mother is doing is too much,” she added.

Anita De-Soso insisted she is ready for Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings as she is part of the reason the NDC is collapsing and that forming her party out of NDC shows her intention for the party; thus the likes of Kofi Adams have seen the truth and that is why they came back after their suspension.

“Someone should tell her [Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings] that when Delilah betrayed Samson, she regretted and saved Samson; she should save her husband before it is too late....and I will continue to plead with God to restore Rawlings back to his original being and not be buried in shame”, she stated.
