Adomako Baafi Sacked As NPP Communications Director

Acting National Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Adomako Baafi has been relieved of his duties at the party’s Asylum Down office.

In his place Member of Parliament (MP) for Adenta and former Deputy Communications Director, Lawyer Yaw Buabeng Asamoah has been named and is set to be unveiled later today.

According to sources at the party’s headquarters, MyNews spoke to, Richard Nyamah and Kofi Agyepong will act as Deputy Directors of communications.

Founder of the Danquah Institute, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko on his Facebook page admitted that party was challenged with communication and expressed happiness an appointment had been made

“Congrats to Yaw Buabeng Asamoah for your appointment as the new Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party. Clearly, there was a huge leadership vacuum in the ruling party’s communication machinery and we are all happy to hear that Chairman Blay, General John Boadu and the team have acted accordingly”, he said in a post.

Yaw Adomako Baafi in March last year revealed that his faith as an Adventist frowns on staking lotto and gambling in general.

He has over the period tried as much as possible to stick to his religious faith recounting how as a kid he was subjected to severe beatings and hefty slaps from her elder sister for staking lotto.

According to him, he had to turn down an offer from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo when he was approached to be an Acting Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA).

He revealed that such a post conflicts with his Christian beliefs as well as the teachings and ideologies of the Adventist Church.

“Kwame, I was offered an appointment at the National Lotteries, but I laughed it off because I don’t see how I will do that job taking into consideration my religious beliefs.”

“I am an Adventist and as Adventists, we frown against staking lotto…so how could I have gone to work there,” he asked.

“I remember as a child, I went to stake lotto, the serious slaps I received from my elder sister and mother in Aboabo instantly transformed me…so there is no way I can take up a job with the lotteries authority,” he added.
