Abramovich Pays For Children To Watch World Cup Games

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich footed bills for 30 seriously ill children in Israel to watch the World Cup after recommendation by former Ghana Coach Avram Grant.

Grant told the Russian billionaire about a charity in his country (Israel) which looked to have touched the heart of the magnate who decided to pay for the children to fly to Russia and enjoy the World Cup games.

Abramovich, one of the World most renowned football Club owners was born to Jewish parents and spent his life in Russia.

The ill children, most of who are suffering from cerebral palsy watched the enthralling game between Germany and Mexico and are expected to catch a glimpse of the match between Portugal and Morocco today.

“Mr Abramovich is supporting Fulfilling Dreams for the third major tournament, following the Brazil World Cup and France Euros, and we continue to be impressed by the selfless work Gilad and his team are doing,” A spokesman for Abramovich said

“The fact that the World Cup is here in Russia this year makes it even more special, and we hope the kids take home some great memories.”

Avram Grant established a good relationship with Roman Abramovich during his time as head Coach of Chelsea.
