“NPP Took Over A Distressed Economy” – MP For Effiduase Asokore

Member of Parliament for [MP] Effiduase Asokore in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie has reiterated the fact that his party took over a distressed economy from the National Democratic Congress [NDC].

To him, he gets easily irritated anytime members of the NDC call on government to quickly honour their word by completing promised projects, because “their (NDCs) huge level of financial mess caused in the past years, is still preventing us from speedily as wished”.

Speaking on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ panel discussion segment, Dr. Ayew Afriyie described as appalling the state of some ambulances at some health centres during a recent tour of such facilities with the Ministry of Health.

Indeed most health sectors have 2/3 of their ambulance vehicles not in use due to one reason or the other, so with such information one will ask him/herself what then does the various health sectors use the allocated monies budgeted for such services?

NPP took over the economy of this country in pain because NDC intentionally poorly managed the affairs of the country, causing most developmental projects to come to a standstill,” he asserted.

But his co-panelist Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, NDC MP for Juaboso in the Western Region, sharply disagreed.

Before NPP came into government, they convinced Ghanaians that they knew the state of the economy better and can adequately manage it more efficiently than the government in power. So why are they now complaining again?” he quizzed.
