Kofi Toku, a farm labourer from Assin Asamankese, was on Tuesday arraigned before an Assin Foso district magistrate court on a provisional charge of murder.
His plea was not taken and was remanded in prison custody to re-appear on January 12, 2010.
Prosecuting, ASP Addae Quarteng told the court presided over by Mr. Joseph Blay that on December 25, 2009, police received a telephone call from an anonymous caller that one Kofi Toku had murdered someone and hidden the body in a bush near the suspect's farm.
The prosecution said police proceeded to the scene at Asamankese and arrested Toku. When his room was searched a single barrel gun was found hidden under his bed.
ASP Quarteng said on December 26, 2009 the police found a partly decomposed body of a male adult in a thick bush covered with palm branches, who was later identified as Solomon, popularly known as "Solosolo".
The Prosecutor added that the decomposed body was removed and sent to St. Xavier Roman Catholic hospital for autopsy.
