"I've Not Filed Any Writ Against The Prez"...It's A "Constitutional Matter" - Kweku Baako

Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr has shot down claims that he has sued President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Kweku Baako has filed a suit at the Supreme Court challenging the removal of Madam Charlotte Osei, Chairperson of the Electoral Commission from office.

His writ is invoking the original jurisdiction of the Supreme Court to declare that the Judicial Service committee set up by the Chief Justice to investigate allegations of misbehaviour and incompetence against Mrs Charlotte Osei exceeded its scope when it recommended her removal.

The writ, which was filed on his behalf by his lawyer, Mr Samson Lardy Anyenini, at the Supreme Court in Accra, Tuesday, July 10, is also praying the court to rule that the Chief Justice’s prima facie determination against Mrs Osei was inconsistent and in violation of Article 146 (3) of the 1992 Constitution.

On Wednesday's edition of Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', host Kwami Sefa-Kayi tried to pull the legs of Kweku Baako saying he (Mr Baako) has taken the President of the land to court.

However, Kweku Baako who immediately realised mischief was at play said: “I have not filed any writ against the president, you know that….It is a constitutional matter; you are just trying to do mischief”.
