"Take Heart....We Serve At The Pleasure Of The Prez" – Ursula To Agyarko

"It is unfortunate that he has fallen casualty in these events…,” Minister of Communications, Ursula Owusu Ekuful, said in reaction to the dismissal of the Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko.

Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko was sacked from office by President Akufo-Addo on Monday.

A statement from the Presidency announcing the action said the President has directed Mr. Agyarko to hand over to the Lands and Natural Resources Minister, John Peter Amewu.

The dismissal of Mr. Agyarko follows reports that the President was misled into approving the new AMERI deal by an Executive Order.

Meanwhile, official reasons for his dismissal are yet to be given.

Hon Ursula Ekuful, who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West constituency in the Greater Accra Region, during a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Wednesday, asked Mr Agyarko to take the President’s decision in good faith because “we serve at the pleasure of the President”

“He should take heart; he’s one of the most hardworking persons I know. We will miss him but this is not the end of the road for him…we serve at the pleasure of the president. He sees the whole picture so we should accord him that respect. He doesn’t have to give us any reason…” she indicated.
