Former Vice Chairman Praises President Akufo-Addo For Elevating Agona West MP

Former Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Agona West Constituency, Mr Enoch Kojo Kwakye has lauded President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his decision to elevate Mrs Cynthia Morrison, Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona West to a Minister’s position.

The former Vice Chairman said President’s elevation of Mrs Morrison to a Minister designate for Gender, Children and Social Protection was highly commended and the entire people of Agona West, especially supporters of NPP party have not in any way regretted voting massively in the 2016 elections.

Speaking to the Media at Agona Abodom, to express his heartfelt to the President Akufo-Addo, Mr Kwakye said the elevation of Mrs Morrison to an enviable position as Cabinet Minister, would pave the way for true welfare of gender management.

Mr Kwakye said haven’t worked with Mrs Morrison in 2012, described her as a hardworking women who never resolute but continued to try as much as possible to achieve her aims and objectives.

The said in 2012 during their tenure in office for four years, the current MP was then candidate and worked assiduously that mobilized more than 80 percent of the women in the Agona West and that saw overwhelming increment of votes in the Constituency.

The former Vice Chairman noted that the appointment of Mrs Morrison should be seen as an honour to the Agonaman, Central Region and the nation as whole, adding that Mrs Morrison had the capacity, competency, vision, trust and confidence enough to deliver.

Mr Kwakye hinted that President Akufo-Addo has seen vision and true leadership skills in her, which can help her to deliver when she is made the Minister for the Women’s Ministry.

Mr Kwakye expressed the hope that the Vetting Committee would give her the nod to enable her discharge the duties excellently to promote peace and stability in the management of gender issues.

He said the appointment of Mrs Morrison as Gender Minister should bring peace and development into the Agona West NPP, adding that, the party needed united front to win massively in 2020 elections.

The former Vice Chairman urged Agona West NPP supporters to use the appointment of MP to unite the party, and said disunity would not bring success but chaos if members refused to come together as one family.
