Clubs Owners Must Reform Themselves – Isaac Asiamah

Youth and Sports Minister, Isaac Kwame Asiamah, has charged club owners to reform themselves as government is yet to form the FIFA/CAF normalization committee to run the administration of football in the country.

The Sports Minister made the pronouncement during the launch of former President Kufuor foundation cup match.

“This is important for all of us to reform ourselves as individuals . . . if you are here as a club owner, please reform yourselves,” he charged.

“ . . What we saw on the video is about all of us, in totality let us reform ourselves so we can save our football,” he added.

Former GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi was suspended by FIFA and CAF from his positions on its decision-making FIFA council. He resigned as GFA president and apologized to President Akufo-Addo and all involved.

According to the Minister, Ghana is and will always be a friend to the world governing body FIFA and the confederation of Africa football, CAF.

FIFA will work with Ghanaian government to eradicate corruption and malfeasance and other associated criminal conduct from the administration of football in Ghana.

“Ghana is a friend of CAF/FIFA/ . . . We have demonstrated to them that government is not interfering but intervened to save our football and that government is committed to the process of reforming Ghana’s football,” he stated.
