NDC Deputy General Secretary-Aspirant To Develop Skilled Database Of Members

A Deputy General Secretary- aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Ephraim Nii Tan Sackey, has promised to provide a comprehensive skilled database of all members of the party when given the nod.

He said although the party had a list of registered members in all the branches across the country, the names were not compiled as an identifiable and workable document for the benefit of party members.

Sharing his mission for the NDC in an interview, Mr Sackey said it was important for the party to know who its actual members were in its reorganisation agenda for victory in the 2020 general election.

He said a comprehensive database for the party at every level would help eliminate the challenge of identifying who the actual members of the party were in creating opportunities for them when the party assumed power.

Mr Sackey, who had already submitted his nomination forms to contest the deputy general secretary position, is contesting with the current Deputy General Secretary, Mr George Lawson, and nine others for the position.

The rest are Alhaji Nuru Hamidan, Ms Barbara Serwaa Asamoah, Mr Peter Boamah Otokonor, Mr Kojo Adu Asare, Mr David Kwaku Worwui-Brown, Mr Abdullah Ishaq Farrakhan, Nii Dodoo Dodoo, Mr Kale Cezar and Mr Evans Amoo.

Experience

As the immediate past Secretary to the Greater Accra Elections Committee, Mr Sackey said he had developed a picture album for the party that ensured a peaceful conduct of the elections.

Other positions held by Mr Sackey in the NDC include the Ablekuma District Committee Secretary; Ablekuma South Constituency Secretary; Chairman, Ablekuma South Election Committee; Deputy Ablekuma South Constituency Secretary and the Ablekuma South Constituency Elections Director.

“I have worked from the grassroots level as a ward secretary, branch secretary, deputy constituency secretary, a District Elections Committee secretary and at various levels at the region. This is the time for me to move to the national level and take up the deputy general secretary position to serve the party,” he said.

The NDC deputy secretary- aspirant, who is currently reading law at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), had his Master’s Degree in Development Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and first Degree (Bachelor of Arts) in Management and Psychology from the University of Ghana, Legon.

He also attended the Graduate School of Mamsa in the United Kingdom (UK), where he had an Advanced Diploma and Higher Diploma in Sales Management and Marketing and the College of Selling Management, also in the UK, where he obtained Salesmanship and Standard Diploma.

Nii Tan Sackey had his secondary education at the Bueman Secondary School where he pursued General Arts. He also possessed certificates in Monitoring and Evaluation Programme from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and a Certificate in Oil and Gas Project Management from the Management Development and Productivity Institute.

He said he would bring on board values such as sensitivity to confidential information, creativity, intrinsic motivation, openness to new ideas, good leadership and communication skills.
