GOODWILL MESSAGE

ISSUED BY VICE CHANCELLORS GHANA

Vice Chancellors of the Public Universities, under the umbrella of the Vice Chancellors Ghana (VCG), wish to extend a hand of congratulations and warmth to you personally and to your Governing Council for appointing you to assume the mantle of Vice Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba. You are assuming office as the substantive Vice Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba, which attests to the confidence the Governing Council has in you to lead the University.

You are no doubt unaware of the challenges that the University has gone through in recent times. You thus, have a daunting task ahead since expectations are high. This definitely should translate into the quality of relationships as well as the nature of teaching, learning and research that will be carried out by faculty and students in the University.

As an appointed Man of God elevated to this high office of Chief Executive Officer of the University of Education, Winneba, let us humbly remind you to be mindful of the role the University should play and can play in ensuring the success of the government’s educational reform policies, especially on the implementation of the double track system which requires professionally trained teachers that your University should continue to produce to ensure its success. You should also not be oblivious of the growing numbers who will access university education with the introduction of the free SHS policy; it will be your duty to expand infrastructure and build capacity in human capital.

We wish to reiterate that you should be guided by the admonition of St. Paul in his letter to the Corinthians in 1Cor 13:4-7.  Carry everyone on board your administration.

We also ask all staff in the University to pool their resources together to ensure that the University picks up its pieces and move forward to develop today into a prosperous peaceful tomorrow. Let love lead you. Once again, congratulations!!!

Issued by Chairman,

Vice Chancellors Ghana
