Rocky Dawuni To Perform At JOSP Fest.

�Music is the ultimate weapon for the manifestation of peace.� These are the words of Ghanaian reggae artist Rocky Dawuni, who will perform at the II Edition of JOSP Fest... , Journeys of the Spirit Festival, that will be held from the 14 � 17 January at the New Rome Fair Grounds. Dawuni and his 11-piece band will perform some of their greatest hits that represent a fusion of reggae, soul and traditional African sounds on Sunday, January 17. Dawuni and his band will be joined by Italian singer Alexia, best known for her single �Me and You� and for her performances alongside artists such as Renato Zero. �As a musician, my cherished intention has been to promote harmony among people of all cultures, religions and ethnicities. JOSP Fest represents to me an opportunity to be part of celebrating this spirit towards uplifting the common good in all of us,� said Rocky Dawuni. In October Dawuni released his 5th studio album, �Hymns for the Rebel Soul� through Whole Foods Market. The 11 song album was inspired and written over the course of his travels around the world including Israel, Finland, Jamaica, United States and Ghana in his quest to articulate and craft a record that reflected the common spiritual, political and social aspirations of ordinary folks around the world. With the songs written, the main tracking and recording took place in Los Angeles during the transformative period of the 2008 U.S. presidential election and concluded on inauguration day. Dawuni sees this album as a musical exploration in global consciousness. The album is now available or download on iTunes.
