NDC Must Go To The 2020 Elections With Attractive Message- Victory For Mahama

A team made of sympathisers of ex-president Mahama, have noted with grave concern the widening gap between policies that are well explained by the New Patriotic Party and that of the National Democratic Congress.

For this reason, the VICTORY FOR MAHAMA group have issued a statement informing the former president to ensure messages he delievers on campaign platforms are well rehearsed and understandable.

In a statement released by the group, they noted that "It is no more a secret that elections in Ghana now are won on how well you define your policies and programmes to the electorate and explaining with all tenacity how these policies could be executed but, not consistently counter attacking the policies of your opponent."

They also explained that "In the wake of these, it's important we in the NDC goes into the 2020 elections with some attractive polices to brighten our prospects. So, in this regard, we call on ex President Mahama to review his campaign strategies by spelling out clearly his policies and programmes instead of stressing on reviewing policies made by the NPP, because that can not win us power in 2020."

MAHAMA'S CAMPAIGN: LET'S FIND A MESSAGE

As sympathisers of Ex President Mahama and the NDC, we have followed the campaign of Mr. Mahama closely and we have made these important observations which we believe they should be seriously considered.

It is sad seeing ex President Mahama campaigns on only the counter opinions of the policies and programmes of the NPP, same strategy we used in the 2016 elections and it backfired.

It is no more a secret that elections in Ghana now are won on how well you define your policies and programmes to the electorate and explaining with all tenacity how these policies could be executed but, not consistently counter attacking the policies of your opponent. Citing some few examples, then Candidate Akufo Addo in 2016 won the elections clearly on how consistent he was with his free SHS policy, One Village One Dam, One District One Factory etc. policies. A fact we in the NDC must frankly admit and do same.

In the wake of these, it's important we in the NDC goes into the 2020 elections with some attractive polices to brighten our prospects. So, in this regard, we call on ex President Mahama to review his campaign strategies by spelling out clearly his policies and programmes instead of stressing on reviewing policies made by the NPP, because that can not win us power in 2020.

Also, it's an undenable fact that, the free SHS policy introduced by the NPP government has been widely accepted as a good policy. But, our checks on the grounds reveal to us that, a lot of people think 'Mr. Mahama is against the free SHS policy and will collapse the policy on his second coming'. A notion that can affect our chances, so to refute this claim, we advice that you clearly explain your stands on that matter to the well meaning Ghanaians.

Also, during the 2016 elections, the NPP tagged you as incompetent, an unfortunate tag which some Ghanaians thought you rightfully deserved it. To refute this claim too, let's put up intriguing campaign messages and policies to tell the electorate you are directly the opposite of what you were or are being tagged.

For now, these are our few concerns and it is very important you address these issues passionately and comprehensively.

We wish you the best of luck in your quest to lead the NDC again.

Musah A. Alhassan
President, Victory for Mahama.
