Former President John Dramani Mahama says it is dangerous to experiment with a political leader who lacks the needed leadership skills to put the country on the right track.

"Somebody came to you and said try me, now look at the results", Mr Mahama told delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Nadowli constituency in the Upper West Region on Tuesday.

Mr Mahama said as a political leader it is easy to criticise when in opposition but the situation is different in government.

Former President Mahama said it is therefore important for a leader who is tried and tested to be elected in 2020 to work towards the high cost of living and provide jobs for the people.
