Guardiola Argues With Raheem Sterling On Pitch Despite Win

Manchesty City gave a brilliant performance as they defeated rival, Manchester United 3-1, with goals from David Silva, Sergio Aguero and Ilkay Gundogan.

With the win in the bag, Raheem Sterling spent some of the closing period showboating in possession with a couple of stepovers.

After the final whistle, Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola stormed onto the field where he was involved in a heated exchange with Sterling. It appeared the City boss wasn't pleased with Sterling's display towards the end of the game.

Sterling, who had been moved into a central position late on, had the ball out on the left and teased the United defenders with Leroy Sane and Phil Foden, much to the delight of the City support. But the Spanish manager took exception and unleashed a passionate tirade on Sterling after the game

Sterling's manager was not the only one disappointed with the action which was joined by cries of 'Ole' from the home support as Juan Mata remonstrated with his rival too.

Guardiola later explained in a interview that he spoke with Sterling  who recently bought a £15,000 guard dog as "he made some movements with his legs that we could avoid".

The City boss added: "He's young and will learn."

It was an otherwise very pleasing day for the Premiere league champions and league leaders as they moved 12 points ahead of United.

David Silva and Sergio Aguero sent the hosts 2-0 ahead before Anthony Martial gave United some hope with a second-half penalty.

But Ilkay Gundogan confirmed victory with a third goal in the final minutes of the game.
