AWCON 2018: Ghana Captain Elizabeth Adoo Named In Best XI

Ghana capatain Elizabeth Addo was included in the 2018 Africa Women's Cup of Nations Best XI as Cameroon dominated with four players but reigning African Footballer of the Year Asisat Oshoala was only good for the bench. 

The bronze medalists produced defender Claudine Meffometou Tcheno and midfield duo Raissa Feudjio  and Marlyse Ngo Ndoumbouk.

Silver medalists South Africa contributed three players included Chrestinah Thembi Kgatlana, who was adjudged Player of the tournament and finished top scorer with five goals.

The Houston Dash player is now the favourite to be named African Women Footballer of the Year at the ceremony in January next year.

Right back Lebohang Ramalepe and captain Janine Van Wyk were the two other Banyana Banyana players who were selected by the Technical Study Group.

Nigeria heroic goalkeeper Tochukwu Oluehi and defender Onome Ebi retained their places in the dream team  but Desire Oparanozie and Francisca Ordega, who won one woman of the match award and scored two goals, were overlooked.
