Ghana suffered an embarrassing 4-2 defeat to rivals Nigeria to exit the WAFU B U20 Championship at the Stade Municipal in Lomé on Wednesday.

Goalkeeper Nurudeen Manaf made way for Frederick Asare, Montari Kamaheni also replaced Imoro Ibrahim in the starting lineup whilst Abdul Fatawu Hamidu and Stephen Amankona took the places of Awudu Tahiru and Samuel Nii Armah Ashitey.

Despite the Black Satellites not having the best of starts in the game, Emmanuel Toku  scored in the 28th minute to put Ghana in front.

Nigeria equalized through Maxwell Michael Effiom with one minute from the break.

The Flying Eagles led in the game for the first time in 77th minute when Abubakar Ibrahim netted from the spot.

Enyimba FC winger Wasiu Alalade increased Nigeria's lead nine minutes from full-time.

Effiom added his second of the game to make it 4-1 to Nigeria.

Toku got another consolation for the Black Satellites with a sublime free-kick on the stroke of the final whistle.

Nigeria toppled the group with four points and was followed by Niger also with four points.
