MoH/GMA Agree To Enhance Consultation In Drones’ Implementation Project

The Ministry of Health and the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) have agreed to enhance consultation in the implementation of Drones for Medical Supply Project.

     The decision was taken after a meeting between the Ministry of Health, Ghana Health Service, the Ghana Medical Association and Zipline under the Chairmanship of the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on Wednesday.

     A statement signed by Mr Pius Enam Hadzide, the Deputy Information Minister, and copied to the Ghana News Agency, said this following the passage of the Ministry of Health’s Drones for Medical Supplies Agreement by Parliament and the subsequent call by the GMA for the suspension of the project to allow for further consultation.

     It said the discussions were very fruitful and it was agreed that the Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Service would engage in enhanced consultations with the GMA and other stakeholders in the implementation of the Drones for Medical Supplies Project.

     The meeting was attended by Mr Kwaku Agyeman Manu, the Minister of Health, Dr Nsiah Asare, the Director-General of Ghana Health Service, Dr Frank Ankobea, the President of GMA, Dr Frank Serebuor, Vice President of GMA, Dr Justice Yankson, Secretary of GMA, and Mr Daniel Baffuor of Zipline.
