I Am Not Interested In Ayawaso West Wuogon Seat - Chief of Staff's Daughter

Daughter of the Chief of Staff, Maataa Opare has denied reports that she will be contesting for the vacant Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary seat.

She says she does not have any knowledge about some campaign fliers bearing her name.

In a statement copied Peacefmonline.com, she stated that, "I, Maataa Opare wish to state unequivocally and in clear terms that I do not have any intentions of contesting as MP for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency."

"I must say that I do not have any knowledge about this campaign flier."

"May the soul of the late Hon. Emmanuel Kyeremanten Agyarko, Member of  Parliament rest well and in peace," the statement concluded.

Constituents of the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency in the Greater Accra Region are currently divided over who to replace the late Member of Parliament for the constituency, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko.

This is because a section of the constituents are reportedly clamouring for his widow, Lydia Agyarko, while others are also in favour of Josephine Nana Baiden Agyarko, who is believed to be the current and second wife of the late MP.

Meanwhile, National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku has called for calm in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency as they prepare for the constituency's by-election

According to him, this is not the time for agitations as the party should be more united and committed than ever for a resounding victory during the by-elections.
