Inusah Fuseini, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale Central and leading member of the John Dramani Mahama Campaign Team, has refuted death threats against supporters of Goosie Tanoh, a presidential aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
It would be recalled that Daily Guide recently published a story about the complaints of Goosie Tanoh about death threats against some NDC delegates, who had decided to support him ahead of the presidential election of the party slated for January 2019.
Mr. Tanoh called for the immediate cessation of the death threats against his supporters to promote unity in the party before and after the election.
Surprisingly, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale Central, dismissed the assertions of Goosie Tanoh, saying “Goosie Tanoh is just trying to make himself relevant. He has said nothing in the campaign; his entrance into the race does not change the equation. He came to meet people campaigning Bagbin, Sylvester Mensah, Spio-Garbrah, who have all indicated their intention to contest John Dramani Mahama. None of them has received death threats.
“Goosie Tanoh, who came in later, is now claiming that his supports are receiving death threats. It’s just a ploy to make himself relevant to the process,” Mr. Fuseini added.
He disclosed this while reacting to the Daily Guide story on A1 Radio in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region.
According to the MP, the Mahama Team is focused on its campaign to ensure that the delegates elect former president John Mahama to lead the NDC to victory in 2020.
Touching on a social media report about a supposed promise by former President John Mahama to give Senior High School (SHS) students monthly allowance and Gari if given the nod, the MP for Tamale Central blamed the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the circulation of the fake story.
