An Accra Circuit Court on Friday remanded two persons for allegedly possessing and using dried leaves suspected to be narcotic drugs (Indian hemp).
Wisdom Godza and Jereh Agbozo pleaded not guilty to possessing narcotic drugs without authority and use of it without authority, respectively. They will make their next appearance on January 24.
Their accomplice, Graham Owusu Sakyi, who was absent, is said to be sick and receiving treatment at the hospital.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector William K. Boateng told the Court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh, that the Prosecution witnesses were police officers stationed at Adenta in Accra while the accused persons live at variant locations in Accra.
He said on January 10, this year, police upon a tip-off arrested the two at a drinking spot, where they found Godza selling substances in some wraps whilst Agbozo was smoking a piece of one of the wraps.
Chief Inspector Boateng said 30 wraps of the suspected drug, a lighter, three wrapping tissues and a cash of GH¢21.50 were retrieved from them.
He said the wraps had been sent to the Forensic Laboratory for examination.
The prosecution said after their caution statements, the accused were charged and put before the Court.
