The Board Chair of the Ghana Water Company Limited, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has described as frustrating the actions of the workers union at the company.

According to him, the union has always been used by individuals to retard progress at the company.

The workers union last year called for the removal of the Board Chair Afenyo-Markin for instigating the removal of the workers representative on the board and signing of cheques.

But MD of Ghana Water Company, Dr. Clifford Braimah, said calls for the removal of the board chairman was baseless and without merit.

The Board Chair of the Ghana Water Company said the union has been used to frustrate and distract progressive thinking in the company.

“Anytime you want to introduce something new that will benefit the company people who are opposed to it will use the union to attack it, at Ghana Water Company all that it takes for an initiative to die is …. of a union red flag and I won’t hide my feelings.”

He called for an attitudinal change in the workers for eh company to move forward.
