Below is the full statement;

NPP-USA wishes to congratulate the President of the Republic, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for the integral role he played in the attainment of peace in Dagbon.

During the 2016 elections, then as a candidate of our great party, pledged to bring peace to Dagbon if elected as a president.

He has fulfilled that pledge by ensuring  peace reigns in Dagbon.

We stand in solidarity with all Ghanaians in commending him for delivering on his promise, and particularly, continuing with the good works of President John Agyekum Kufuor.

We also wish to congratulate the Committee of Eminent Chiefs chaired by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, along with the Overlord of Mamprugu, the Nayiri, Naa Bohugu Abdulai Mahami Sheriga, and the Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom, the Yagbonwura, Tuntumba Boresa Sulemana Jakpa, for working tirelessly to bring about this historic feat.

We applaud them for their commitment and statesmanship throughout the process.

We cannot discount the efforts of the Dagbon people and their commitment to the attainment of peace.

Like majority of Ghanaians, we congratulate the newly elected Ya-Naa Abukari Mahama II on his enskinment as the King of Dagbon.

Dagbon plays an important role in the development of Ghana and our hope is that this peace will last in order to lead to sustained development in the area.

We are confident that Dagbon will reach its fullest potential under the able leadership of Ya-Naa Abukari Mahama II.

A peaceful Dagbon is possible today because of the equally important works by previous governments. For all their efforts, we say Ayekoo!

Long Live Ghana! Long Live Dagbon! Long Live Ya-Naa!

Thank you,

Signed,

Branch Chairperson,

Obaa Yaa Frimpong
