Chaos At Ayawaso West Wuogon Is A Premeditated Act By NDC To Boycott The Polls - Kokofu

Former Member of Parliament for Bantama constituency, Henry Kwabena Kokofu, has asserted that the National Democratic Congress (NDCs) decision to withdraw from the ongoing Ayawaso West Wuogon by-elections for security reasons is premeditated.

National Chairman of the opposition NDC, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, in an earlier interview with host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', stated that some security personnel disguised in masks indiscriminately fired shots at electorates at Bawaleshie Presby polling centre in the constituency.

Following that shooting incident, he said, the NDC has pulled out of the on-going bye-election because "they won't sit on the fence and watch their members to loss their lives".

Addressing the issue on 'Kokrokoo', the former Bantama MP noted that the narrations by the NDC National Chairman are palpable falsehoods and should be taken with a pinch of salt.

He revealed the ruling NPP picked up intelligence prior to the bye-election that the NDC has been contemplating boycotting the bye-election just to discredit the elections.

"....the shooting incident is merely a premeditated act by the NDC hierarchy and in order to achieve their goal, they are just fabricating stories to cause mayhem in the elections and blame it on the NPP....this is a strategy they are using to pull out of the election because they know the NDC Parliamentary candidate for the constituency, Delali Kwasi Brempong cannot match the NPP's candidate Lydia Seyram Alhassan," he stated.
