Ayawaso West Wuogon By-election The Worst Ever In The History of Ghana - Asiedu Nketia

The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has stated emphatically that the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election is the worst ever by-election recorded in the history of Ghana.

According to him the by-election suffered unprecedented low turn out of 20%, the lowest recorded in any by-election in the history of Ghana.

Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, he indicated that, it was agreed after a committee meeting at the Electoral Commission that it is only the police and military that will be allowed to work and maintain the election processes.

"After all this brouhaha, then the EC will come out to say the election was a successful one, how disappointing, shameful . . . A constituency with zero records of violence . . . I grieved over Jean Mensa's press conference after the violence at Ayawaso by-election," he stressed.

General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Asiedu Nketia, has slammed attackers of former President John Dramani Mahama's “boot for boot” comment in the wake of the unfortunate assault on NDC officials by some masked men in police vehicles, during the just-ended Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.

According to General Mosquito, as he is affectionately called, it is an absolute height of hypocrisy for a section of the public to condemn former President Mahama’s comment without first addressing what led to the ex-President’s outburst.
