Whereas many women organizations are condemning the name calling of newly elected MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Lydia Seyram Alhassan – a Deputy National Women's Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Maame Efua Sekyi-Aidoo says the ‘unrecognized’ NPP MP deserves every name tagging.

Maame Efua Sekyi-Aidoo surprised listeners of NEAT FM "Ghana Montie" show, on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 when she insisted that indeed the new Ayawaso West Wuogon MP is a ‘bloody widow’ who never got married to the late MP, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko.

“She [Lydia Alhassan] is not even the wife of the former MP. I have issues with people referring to her as the wife of late Agyarko. She is a side chick. This is a woman who wanted the late MP’s post desperately when he was not even buried. She is a husband snatcher as well,” the unapologetic NDC National Executive told the host, Akwasi Aboagye.

The newly elected MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Lydia Seyram Alhassan swearing in was protested by the minority in parliament – they walked out of Parliament to express their displeasure with issues that occurred during the bye-election.

The minority side also held placards with inscription “bloody widow” – an act many have condemned but no NDC member has yet admitted to the fact that the inscription on the placards was libelous.

Their Deputy National Women's Organizer further opined that “everything about that woman is violent. She is not compassionate. She is not a good woman. Lydia Alhassan is not fit to be a Member of Parliament. Everything around her is bloody.”

“The minority should design new placards with the inscription, ‘Bloody Side Chick’ -this is who Lydia Alhassan is. The Bloody widow label the MPs used wasn’t harsh enough. If we are not careful, this woman will set Ghana on fire,” Maame Efua Sekyi-Aidoo stated.
