“My Team Is Not Coming Home Empty Handed” Satellites Coach

Jimmy Cobblah, head coach for the national U-20 team, the Black Satellites, has said, his team knows what is ahead of them going into Saturday’s encounter against Mali in the ongoing Confederation of African Football (CAF) Youth Championship in Niger.

According to Cobblah, his team was well prepared physically and psychologically in their do or die clash, as they seek to make it to the medal zone of the competition and possibly qualify for the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) World Cup in Poland later in the year.

At a press conference ahead of tomorrow’s fixture at Stade General Seyni Kountche in Niger, Cobblah said “we look ready for this encounter and in times like this, it looks like you are already into the knockout stage of a competition, where you have to give your all to win.

“I always believe in one thing when going into a game, which is looking forward to a win, so that my final destination would be a draw and that is what exactly we are working on.”

Answering questions on the psyche of his team, the former Inter Allies coach noted that, his boys were responding well and would come out clean.

“The boys are aware of what is at stake. They are aware that after this game they are going into the medal zone and I have told them it’s not time to go back to Ghana empty handed and tell stories, but with a medal to showcase our glory, which is medal,” he said.

Both teams enter into tomorrow’s game with three points each, with Ghana having a goal advantage over Mali, which a draw could send them into the next round of the tournament, with Senegal already booking a semi-final berth from Group B.
