I Have Not Thought About Becoming A Running Mate - Benjamin Kunbour

A former Minister for the Interior, Dr. Benjamin Bewa-Nyog Kunbuor says he is not thinking of becoming a running mate for any candidate in the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Even though he is 'on good terms' with all the candidates contesting for the flagbearership position, he has not yet decided on becoming a running mate to any of them.

The NDC has seven candidates contesting for the flagbearership position: former President John Mahama, Joshua Alabi, Alban Bagbin, Sylvester Mensah, Ekow Spio-Garbrah, Goosie Tanoh and Nurudeen Idrissu.

Even before delegates choose who to lead the party for the 2020 elections on February 23, 2019, names have already started popping up for possible running mates.

Former President Mahama is reportedly considering the Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey constituency in Accra, Zanetor Rawlings. Others have also mentioned Madam Valarie Sawyerr.

Dr Kunbour speaking on Class FM, Monday, was asked if he would want to be a running mate of any of the candidates and he said: “we don’t yet have a presidential candidate. It is when you have a presidential candidate that you will decide if you want to be a running mate or not . . . currently I have not thought about it.”
