By-Election Violence: Commission of Inquiry Needless – MP For Amenfi Central

NDC Member of Parliament (MP) for Amenfi Central in the Western Region, Hon. Peter Kwakye Ackah has said there was no need for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to set-up a Commission of Inquiry following the Ayawaso West Wuogon By-election shootings when the facts on the ground are rightly before him.

“Why would he [President Akufo-Addo] want to waste time and state resources claiming he has set-up a Commission of Inquiry to curtail the doubt citizens have on their minds when he is already aware of the facts of the issue,” he said.

According to him the Minister of State in Charge of National Security, Bryan Acheampong has already disclosed that the masked security men were deployed from his outfit.

He said nobody should be blamed for the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence other than the first gentleman of the land, President Akufo-Addo.

“We should stop the Commission of Inquiry things and bring the masked security men to be prosecuted, because we know nothing positive will come out of this investigations,” he stated.

The MP for Amenfi Central was speaking on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ political discussion programme.
