Make Kintampo Regional Capital of Bono East - Kabila

The acting General Secretary of the Convention People's Party (CPP) James Kwabena Bomfeh, is advocating for Kintampo in the Bono East to be made the Regional capital.

According to him, there are four reasons why Kintampo should be made the regional capital.

Speaking on Okay FMs 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, he indicated that one of the NPP's manifesto is to make developmental project in various regional capitals visible and that making Kintampo capital will make the president's vision materialised.

First, he observed that Kintampo is at the centre of the country aside its vast landscape and also accessibility to other parts of the country.

Kintampo is bound with enough facilities to be used as the region capital and therefore appealed to relevant authorities to take it into consideration.

“This is the centre of the country and very easy to reach," he said.

It will help to open up the region for greater development because it serve as a link to Tamale to Kintampo, Nkoranza, Techiman, Atebubu therefore easy accessibility for all.

Making Kintampo the capital will reduce the tension that comes with overcrowding and ethnic tensions that will surface.

Techiman for example is choked and already developed so if Techiman is made the regional capital it will even affect and be difficult for others to realize president Akufo-Addo's campaign manifesto, because people will still see Techiman as an already develop town.

He also made a strong case on making Kintampo the regional capital because Kintampo was once a colony and capital to the Northern territory as far as history is concerned.

In his view, he suggested that the president can make Techiman the economic capital because of its development.

"My hope is to have Kintampo the regional capital but the President is the highest making decision body so we all wait and believe in his judgement," he said.
