All 6 Presidential Hopefuls Deserve To Lead NDC; Except John Mahama - NDC Activist

An NDC Activist Dela Coffie is calling on all the National Democratic Congress (NDC) delegates who will on February 23, 2019 to reject the candidature of former John Dramani Mahama and make a choice from the 6 remaining Presidential hopefuls.

He explained that former President Mahama has done his part serving the country in so many capacities including the Presidency, and so the other 6 Presidential hopefuls should be given the opportunity to lead the party in the 2020 elections.

Speaking on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Dela Coffie amplified why he believes Mr Mahama should step aside for other party members to serve the party.

“Apart from John Mahama that I have expressed my opinion that he has done his part as former President and so he should step aside for other party members to serve the party. Apart from him, all the other aspirants too have done well if you look at how they toured the whole country and the kind of work they have done, people like us are hopeful that our party has a bright future because the calibre of people like Prof. Joshua Alabi who turned one room school of IPS into a massive edifice and made it a university; people like this are change-makers”, he stated.

He again mentioned that “Dr. Spio-Garbrah has done a lot all over the world and he is somebody that if he gets the opportunity to lead the party, he can do the work for the country; somebody like Sylvester Mensah, a young and enterprising future leader and so for me, all the people except John Mahama can perform excellently well in country”.

He also said that Gossie Tanoh cannot be left out when it comes to the aspirants who deserve to serve the party as the Flagbearer; thus he is one of the founding members who have the grassroots development at heart as he believes the total control of the party should be at the grassroots level.

He added that the NDC's preparation for the 2020 elections is very bad as compared to the ruling party, making the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election as the test case for the party.

If you look at what happened at Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election, you can see that NPP is well prepared for election 2020. On the other hand, NDC does not seem prepared for election 2020...we need a leader, bold and courageous leader to move the party forward”, he stated.
