Shatta Wale, Becca, Joyce Blessing, Stonebwoy Et Al Snub Late Willi Roi . . .

Zylofon Signees on Sunday, February 17, 2019 snubbed the one-week observation in memory of the late Willi Roi.

Yesterday, marked one week since the veteran musician and music producer passed away in his apartment at Zylofon Arts Complex.

It was a sorrowful sight over the weekend when family and friends met to observe the one-week celebration of the late Willi Roi, but something that bothered the minds of people and caught the attention of curious eyes was the absence of Zylofon Signees at the residence of the late musician.

Dancehall artistes Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, gospel musician Joyce Blessing, Becca, Benedicta Gafah, Eddie Nartey, Kumi Guitar, Bibi Bright (just to mention a few) were all signed and employed by Zylofon.

These people and many more all worked with the late Willi Roi before his demise.

As custom demands, it was expected of them to attend the one week but not even a single shadow of the Signees could be traced during the solemn function.

Head of Communications of Zylofon media, Samuel Atuobi Baah popularly called "Sammy Flex" in an interview with on Neat FM's "Entertainment Ghana" on Monday, February 18, explained why the Signees decided not to attend the one-week celebration of the late Willi Roi.

Although admitting he has no idea about their reasons for snubbing the deceased, Sammy Flex however believed it might be because they were not privy to adequate information on Willi Roi's one week.

He told host Kwame Adjetia that some of the Signees may have had scanty details, hence not being able to join him and others to commiserate with the deceased’s family over their loss.

"It is true. I also didn't see anyone but as a matter of fact, we don't know yet why they didn't show up...Again...as much as I know which I was part of the preparation, we didn't really do any special invitation to some people. We're now doing special invitations now that we know the date for the funeral...If you're not someone who usually follows social media, you'll hear that [yes] Willi Roi has passed away but may not be able to follow . . . Apart from the fact I went to one radio or two stations to talk, most of the posters directing us to the one week was on social media.

"I will not put blame on anybody. First of all, people don’t really attach premium to one week," he said.

He however believed the one week was successful even at the absence of the Zylofon artistes.
