Menzgold Demo Hits Tarkwa

CUSTOMERS OF embattled gold collectible firm, Menzgold Ghana Limited are demonstrating this morning in Tarkwa.

The customers accordingly have their funds locked up with the company which has stopped operating after a directive from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on September 7, 2018 ordered the company to suspend its unlicensed deposit-taking operations with the public.

Chief Executive Officer of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah has since been arrested in Dubai on December 7, 2018 in connection with a fraudulent gold deal involving an Emeriti firm, Horizon Royal Diamonds.

The customers demonstrating in Tarkwa number around two hundred and are demanding that the government intervenes and help them retrieve their locked up investments in the firm.

It would be recalled that other customers of Menzgold in Kumasi and Accra have also been demonstrating for their funds.

Menzgold has around 5,000 customers nationwide. The company is believed to owing its customers some $42 million.
