Shooting@NDC Office: We're Ready To Cooperate With The Police - NDC MP

Member of Parliament for Sefwi Juaboso in the Western Region, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has added his voice to calls on the Ashanti Regional Police Command to speed up investigations into the shooting incident that occurred at the NDC Regional Office.

Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", Hon. Mintah Akandoh described the incident as a "criminal issue" which shouldn't be swept under the carpet.

According to him, the Police must hunt for the perpetrators of the crime and let them face the full rigors of the law.

Some members of a pro-NDC group called the "Hawks" fired multiple gunshots at some taskforce officers of the same party during a meeting with National and Regional executives of the NDC at the party office.

In what looked like an action movie, the incident which occurred Monday morning led to the death of one person and another in a critical condition.

The Regional Police Command has launched a manhunt for four suspects involved in the shooting on Monday, February 18, 2019.

Hon. Mintah Akandoh asked political actors in the country not to interfere with the Police investigations saying "the only legitimate body that can do this investigation is the Police. They should treat it with all the seriousness it deserves and not bring politics into it…The party says all the cooperation that the Police needs from us, we’re ready to cooperate with the Police to undertake their investigations to deal with that issue".
