Shooting@NDC Office: We Doubt NDC Member Will Shoot His Fellow, But . . . - Gen. Mosquito

The identity of the victims in the shooting incidence at the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Headquarters in the Ashanti Region has been given by the General Secretary John Asiedu Nketia as registered members.

He, however, claims the same cannot be said of the hoodlums who reportedly killed one member of the party and maimed the other in the shooting incident.

Those who were injured and died in the shooting have been identified as NDC members but those who shot at the victims, considering the possibility that they are NDC members is mind boggling; we have our doubt and the police must investigate the matter,” he stated.

Speaking on Okay FM’s "Ade Akye Abia" Morning Show, General Mosquito as affectionately called, expressed delight at the fact that the police have identified the hooligans as known members of the Hawk, a vigilante group with affiliation to the NDC.

I have heard the police on another media platform that those who came to the party headquarters to shoot at the people are known hawk members of NDC; if so, then this is good news because we have instructed you to investigate the incident and if they know the identity of the killers, then their work will be very easy."

“ . . the reason why we have handed over everything of the case to the police is that whether the thugs are NDC members or not, crime is a crime and so let them face the full rigour of the law,” he fumed.

He admonished the police not to turn the criminal act perpetrated by these armed thugs into a case of internal NDC bickering.

We are telling the police not turn the criminal act into NDC internal bickering because they way the police has started talking that they are all NDC members, if we don’t take care, the police will destroy the case and conclude that party leaders wish to resolve the matter at home. Please, we don’t settle criminality at home and so they must get to the bottom of the matter whether they know them or not,” he charged.
